Xmas party
Yeah!!!! Christmas is almost here so we have to celebrate it in AIESEC as well!
And as I already said, Iceland is very special place, so even Christmas party has to be done in special time - November quite fits, doesn´t?
In details, last Thursday we had Christmas party. Almost all @ members came and we had together perfect time.
We started by tasty dinner (baked lamb, smoked lamb - hangikjöt, pork, potatoes, sauces, vegetable salad, herring and probably some more things), continued through drinking Malt&appelsín (malt a pomeranc. dzus), wine and hot wine (svarak) ala Arturs (Latvia) and eating sweets (some Czech christmas cookies ;) - I was baking them whole Saturday, German ones, Latvian and Norwegian).
And than we were singing Silent Night (Tichá noc) in SEVEN languages (English, Icelandic, Czech, Latvian, Lithuanian, Norwegian and German). It was so beautiful feeling for me when all people were singing Czech version of song with almost perfect pronunciation. I really felt like at Christmas Eve. All this singing was even more emotional because Endre (Norway) was playing beautifully piano!
After all this gifts were on the row! It was really funny way of getting gifts. Christian (Germany) came up with great game. First we had to toss 6 to get a gift and we could choose which one. After all people got their gifts we looked what we got. And that was not all! Then we had 10 min to exchange gifts. If we toss 2 we could exchange gift with somebody else, if we toss 1, all gifts were moved from right to left. It took us quite a long time and speed was coming up by less time that we had left. Really fun! I am sure, that at the end everyone enjoyed his/her gift even though s/he got totally different one than at the beginning.
Jæja as Icelanders would say, it was really nice time and I can´t wait for real Christmas Eve!
