Hi everyone,it´s quite long time I sent my last post. And there is lot of things which happened in during that time.
So, with what to start?
First of all, I have to say, that on 14th of September it was already
two months since I come to Iceland. Wow, time is passing so fast! And this time I enjoyed really a lot so far ;)

We have already behind us promotion (stands, brochures, emails, info meetings) for
recruitment of our members, we have around 50 people on the list from this autmn and around 100 from last year. So we will see how many of them will join our national conference Think Big (7-9th October) and how many of them will be selected as members (short- and long-term members, among them also exchange students). I am really looking forward for newies and for international team :))).

We had also finally our first
MC teambuilding. We were cooking togeather lamb meat, potatoes, some salad, drinking wine, beer .... talking about our team, us as a team members, as a people... and having lot of fun! :)
Cheese cake we ate at office because we were so full after dinner that we were not able to finish it.

Guess what? Winter is coming pretty fast to Iceland. Right now we have almost one week
snow on Esja mountain (horsky masiv naproti pristavu) which is visible from almost each place in Reykjavik and you can get there by bus (app. 40 min). Just have a look on picture. And today, is so nice, sunny day, blue sky, almost without any clouds, but it´s quite cold... and this upcoming snow you can breath in air..... it looks like real day in January in Czech.

In the series of parties I forgot to mention one. We - me, our trainee Nicole and exchange students from different organizations - had
Dumpling party - typical Czech fruit dumplings. There were 3 Czechs - me, Petr and Martina (both from Prague) and one Slovak girl Svetlana (on pic. in red) who where taking care about recipe... and of course others were so excited in making dumplings and puting fruit inside .. it was so fun just to watch them ;)
Also one thing to mention. Fianlly I have a
bike. Thank you, Kristín, for lending it to me !!! Now I have it almost 3 weeks. I am biking every day to work, so in the morning I can get up 30 min later ... that sounds nice, doesn´t ? Do you want to see a picture? He he
Do u want to hear also some culture understanding stories? It´s pretty easy. I was making
coffee for me and Kristín at office. Normal, typical, Turkish koffie (proste kafe s logrem), and when she saw it, she looked at me as that I am crazy or what. They are never doing coffie like this. Icelanders have special coffie-maker - I don´t mean coffie maker as a machine (neco jako nadoba se sitkem, ktere to kafe precedi) ... So I had to tell her, that it´s "Turkish" coffie, then she understood.
Second story is about egg. Normal
stand for egg (stojanek na vajicko), if you want to eat it from skin. My roome mate is always complaining about it, because it´s impossible to buy it in Iceland. Why? Basicly they don´t have it in the shop.
What I learned during recruitment here? How to bake
waffels in waffel-maker. I am now expert! ;) What about waffles party when I am back?
I am adding a picture of
sunset ... it was nice evening. I expected Northen lights (polarni zari) in the night, but there were no. So pity!
