Enjoy!

I didn´t manage to get all pictures from IC, so they will come later on.

And now I have to show you one more picture, right here, right now:

It´s not enough to say it once, some people need to see it in different versions and aslo feel it, just look at this:

A touch of culture

Yesterday me and Katia went to the downtown to breath in some icelandic culture. We decided to go to two galeries.

First one was the National gallery of Iceland - exhibition called "Landscape and Folklore". In 4 rooms we could see pictures of typical icelandic landscape, some scenes from sagas, sculptures and other special arts. Here are few shots:
icelandic woment and bull - actually i don´t like this picture too much but it shows how creative some ppl can be - look at the bull, he has no skin. Me and Katia did the same as the women on the picture - tried not to look at it too much ;)

this is a brilliant picture (called Picture in the picture), it might seem really dark but almost at the bottom of the picture there are couple of cows - try to look deeper into the painting.

this is a special piece of art - lava which was heated up by fire and while melting, it created these pictue on the wall. This big piece is hanged from the celling and it´s "leaking" down (actually is not leaking but while meled, it got stoned).

children corner - just chilling and watching kids pictures - this wasn´t part of exhibition but anyways, those pics are nice.

The second place we have visited was Culture house - exhibition called "Icelandic fashion" where different cloth designers were presenting their clothes. Pls find few pictures in my Flickr album ... i have again problems to upload more pics into 1 post.

Every day starts TODAY!

this was the motto of International Congress 2006 which was happening this year in Poland. IC is the biggest AIESEC conference where over 500 AIESECers meet. IC is for MC members and also there were some LCPs as well.

IC was a dream for me, especially after last year when I couldn´t attend IC in India, I really wanted to go to this one. And I did :-)

Overall IC was great conference, I met lof of my old friends, not only from Czech republic, and also we had re-union of delegates from ITC 06 which was in Lithuania. I felt really nice to meet all those people I know. And of course, making new friendships is exciting!

I really loved one part from IC - it was case-studies session where we were in groups of 15 ppl, trying to solve some problem from some LC/MC in AIESEC world. In this session (it was for 3 evenings with 3 cases), I felt that I really can help also on only in my home countries but also in the other corner of the world. Sharing my own experience, challenges and ideas, together with the ideas of ppl from rest of the group, trying to find the best solution possible, had made really impact on me.

I got also very inspired by some partners presentations involving CSR (corporate social responsibility) initiatives/activites. I discovered that that´s what I would love to do in my life! Working for international company (which can make a lot as they have a money and force), being involved in different activities for society (planning them and making them real). That´s they way how I see I can contribute to make the world better place! Now I am trying to get more info on CSR and I would love to do CSR internship in the future if possible to get experience and then use it in practise.

I have to mention also one brilliant thing which made IC really open also for those, who where not there. IC went ONLINE! I really recommend you to check http://live.ic2006.pl where you can see all the sessions which were at the conference, all the discussions and of course pictures and videos :).

I would like to get back now to the motto of conference - EVERY DAY STARTS TODAY! - I have to say that I LOVE this motto. Let me share my thoughts with u.

EVERY DAY - yes, every day, is something happening around the world, around us, to us. And we either are doing something with that or we are ignoring it. WHY? Don´t ask me, ask yourself. Why we don´t care abt something what´s happening on the other continent? Becuase it´s so far away? Because we don´t live there so it´s not our problem? Because, because, because ... let´s stop searching for reasons for why NOT and rather find why YES and what to do with that! Every day is something happening and every day we can do something about that! Do u think that you, as single individual have no power? Honestly, sometimes I feel like it as well, but on the other hand I believe that even by doing small thing I can influence other´s minds and some of them will start doing something as well and others and others. Of course you as individual won´t save all world, but if every one contribuest somehow we can make an impact.

TODAY - it fully describes that if we want to do something, we should start right now, not to wait for tomorrow or another day when we feel like doing something, waiting for "better conditions", "more sources" ... or whatever people can come up with reasons why not today, not now. If you wait, you never make it, or u do but it´s already late.

Let´s stop talking, let´s act! So, now I finish this post and get back to realy stuff ;-)

Pictures will be later in Flickr.
