Ildi & Mano wedding

Last weekend I have attended a great wedding of my friends, Ildiko (Hungary) and Emmanuel (Mexico), a couple who met for the first time in Ostrava :). Wedding in mexican-hungarian style was held on 19th of May in Perkata, village 75kms from Budapest.

There were at least 150 people I would say and atmosphere was really cool. I have met here also my friends, ex-trainees from Ostrava, CZ. Some of them I havent seen for almost 3 years. It was so cool!

We (me, Albert - Canada, Pavel - CZ) have traveled from Ostrava on Friday afternoon, came later to the hostel but that was ok anyways :). We picked up Tereza (CZ) from the airport and went for very late dinner to pizzeria. Here we had to wait for over 1hour to get a food... horrible service!
Next day we spent around 1hour of site-seeing in Budapest, actually because of lack of time we went just to the bridge in the city centre and walked there and back, made some pictures and then drove for the wedding.

After arriving to Perkata, our welcome lunch was ... what else ...typical hungarian gulash :).

Wedding started at 6p.m. in the church in Perkata and after the ceremony we went to another village for the party. Great games for the newly wedds, nice music and lot of fun with people made this evening amazing.

New hit in czech radios!

I have a philosophical question for you :)

How do you select the songs which you like?
Does the race play role in it?

I dont know what to think about Czech people. Are we really taking the race in account or is it only gipsies we don´t like?

I am always suprised to see the discussions when some song contest is happening and there is one representative who is gipsy. Many people say right from the beginning, that he/she doesnt have a chance because he is gipsy and Czech people wont vote for him/her.

But I keep being suprised.

Three or four years ago in contest "Česko hleda superstar" one guy, Vlasta Horvát, gipsy, won the competition.

And what more...

this year at the competiton for selecting the first Czech representative for Eurovision, there was again some gipsies represented. Group called Gipsy.cz. They didnt win, but their song is now very popular and is playing in many radios. Some people said in the discussion forum on net, that the group which won (Kabát) got so many votes just because all their fans were voting. Gipsy.cz were one of the favorites, but because they were not known, the didnt get selected. Who knows how was it.

Anyways, the song of Gipsy.cz is now very popular, in opposite to Kabat which i havent heard in radios in some time. :=)

So, I am still not persuaded if gipsies are in equal position when competing but i hope that its getting better and Czech people are starting to appreciate good and hard work.
